Help & FAQ
How NM BidSignal works today: bids, submissions, results, competitors and contracts.
About NM BidSignal
What is NM BidSignal?
NM BidSignal is a bid management and performance intelligence platform. You track each bid from preparation to submission and result, record who won and at what price, follow the contracts you win, and see how you perform over time.
The workflow: find a solicitation → create the bid → prepare → submit → record the result → track the contract, work orders and change orders → learn from your performance.
Who is NM BidSignal for?
Contractors and other companies that bid public work and want one place for their bids, deadlines, results, competitors and contracts.
Does NM BidSignal find government bids automatically?
No. NM BidSignal does not search for, collect or import solicitations. It is not a replacement for SAM.gov, agency procurement portals, DemandStar, OpenGov, VendorLink or your other solicitation sources.
Keep finding opportunities where you already do. NM BidSignal is where you manage the ones you decide to pursue: Find → Track → Submit → Record Result → Learn.
Where do I find solicitations?
In the same places you do today: agency procurement portals, SAM.gov, bid notification services, plan rooms and announcements sent to you by agencies. When you decide to pursue one, create a bid for it in NM BidSignal.
How do I get access? Can I buy a plan or start a free trial?
NM BidSignal is in Private Beta. Access is by request: use Request Access on the sign-in page. Plans can't be purchased yet, and there is no self-service trial today.
Once your organization is set up, an Org Admin invites the rest of your team.
Bids and submissions
How do I create and track a bid?
Go to Bids and choose New Bid. Each bid moves from Preparing to Waiting Results once you record your submission, and then to its result: Won, Lost, Cancelled or Withdrawn.
Bid Pipeline shows your bids by stage. Deadlines lists upcoming dates such as question deadlines, pre-bid meetings and bid due dates, and can send you reminder emails.
What is the difference between Price Based and Qualification Based bids?
When you record a submission you choose its type. A Price Based submission has a submitted dollar amount. A Qualification Based submission is evaluated on qualifications and has no submitted price.
For a Qualification Based submission NM BidSignal shows "Not applicable" instead of an amount. It is never counted as $0 in totals or price comparisons.
Can I track submitted bid values?
Yes. For a Price Based submission you record the amount, the submission method and the date, and you can correct a submission later. Reports use the amounts you recorded; a value that was never recorded is shown as unknown, never as $0.
Can I record winning competitors and bid tabulations?
Yes. In Submission & Result you record the outcome. For a lost bid, the Winning Company and Winning Bid are the official result.
In Bid Tabulation you add the other companies' bids from the published tabulation:
- Add as many known competitors as the tabulation lists.
- A competitor's amount can stay unknown if it wasn't published.
- Your own bid comes from your submission and is shown separately; you don't enter it as a competitor row.
- Competitors are chosen from your organization's competitor list. NM BidSignal never guesses matches from similar names; an Org Admin can link alternate spellings to a competitor.
What is Competitor Analysis?
Competitor Analysis, under Reports, is built from your own lost bids and Bid Tabulation entries: which companies you compete against, how often they beat you, and the price difference where both prices are known.
Open a competitor to see every bid where you met them and your head-to-head results. A bid with an unknown price still counts as an encounter, but never as $0 in a money figure.
Dashboard and reports
What KPIs does the Dashboard track?
The Dashboard shows:
- Total Bids and Win Rate.
- Bids by status: Preparing, Waiting Results, Won, Lost, Cancelled and Withdrawn.
- Single Project Awards and term contracts: Term Contracts Won, Work Orders and their values.
- Contract Value: original awards, approved and pending Change Orders, and Current Contract Value.
- Upcoming Deadlines, the Pipeline Summary, Recent Bids and Lost Bid Analysis.
Which reports are available?
Under Reports: Bid Performance, Competitor Analysis, Agency Performance and Location Performance. Each is built only from your organization's own bids.
Contracts and Change Orders
Does NM BidSignal track contracts and change orders?
Yes, for the bids you win. When you record a submission you choose its contract type, Single Project or Contract Term, and you confirm it when you record the win: a single project has its Original Award Value; a contract term's individual jobs are tracked as Work Orders.
Change Orders are recorded from the bid's detail page, on the project or on a Work Order.
How are approved and pending Change Orders handled?
A Change Order starts as a draft, is submitted, and is then approved, rejected or cancelled. While it is submitted and waiting for a decision it is pending.
Only approved Change Orders change the contract value. Pending Change Orders are shown separately and are not included in Current Contract Value until they are approved. An approved Change Order can be negative.
What is Current Contract Value?
Original Award Value + Approved Change Orders = Current Contract Value. Pending Change Orders stay separate.
For term contracts, Work Orders follow the same model: each Work Order's original value plus its approved Change Orders. If an original value was never recorded, NM BidSignal does not treat it as $0; it shows the total as incomplete and says how many contracts are missing a value.
Company Profile and Team
Can I manage team members?
Org Admins manage the team from Team: they invite teammates by email, give a member Org Admin access, and deactivate, reactivate or remove members. Every member can see who is on the team.
Can normal members edit the Company Profile or Team settings?
No. Members can view the Company Profile and the Team list, and work with bids. Only an Org Admin can edit the Company Profile or change the team.
What happens to my company and profile data?
The Company Profile holds your organization's identity, contact details, address and business basics, such as years in business and employee count. Your EIN is always shown masked.
It belongs to your organization: only signed-in members of your organization can see it, and only Org Admins can change it.
Documents
What happens to uploaded bid documents?
Documents and Addenda you upload to a bid are stored with that bid. Only signed-in members of your organization can see them. NM BidSignal does not send them to agencies or anywhere else.
Can I export or download uploaded documents?
Yes. Download any uploaded document from its bid's detail page, one file at a time, and delete it when you no longer need it. There is no bulk export today.
Does NM BidSignal analyze bids with AI?
Not today. Documents you upload are stored, not analyzed by AI, and nothing is written into your bids automatically.
AI document-analysis capabilities are planned and may be offered in a future Business plan.
Does NM BidSignal submit bids to agencies for me?
No. You submit your bid to the agency the way the solicitation requires. In NM BidSignal you then record that submission and, later, the result.
Security and privacy
Is my data private?
Your bids, prices, results, documents and Company Profile belong to your organization. You sign in to your own account, everything is scoped to your organization and never shown to other organizations, and Org Admin–only actions are enforced by the server, not just hidden in the interface.
NM BidSignal is in Private Beta. Its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are drafts under review, and it does not currently hold any security or compliance certification.
